And they keep on coming…

The Obama campaign alerts me to three more Supers in their camp today:

  1. Indiana Congressman Joe Donnelly
  2. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin
  3. DC Democratic Party Chairwoman Anita Bonds

If today is anything like yesterday, this list will grow.

Meanwhile, West Virginia is voting today and Senator Clinton is expected to pick up a couple handfuls of delegates. Al predicts +12. But at this point, the only chunk of delegates that I am still interested in are the ones being given a  timeout – i.e. the Michigan and Florida delegations.

The DNC’s Rules Committee meets on May 31st and sources at the DNC tell me  they expect that the matter will be resolved by then and won’t be an issue at the Convention in August.

  1. Hi Tracy, congrats on the blog 🙂

Any speculation on what the Rules Committee might do?

  2. I think it depends on what the delegate counts look like at that point, if Obama has it 100% sewn up and their decision won’t matter either way, I think they just give them a slap on the wrist and seat the full delegation.

  3. It seems to me that some penalty should apply; otherwise, some states will employ this strategy again in 2012.   I will be so happy when I no longer have to hear about Michigan/Florida.
Tracy,  why did these two states do this, in the first place?
